memr

Normal V1.0-rc54-2d701ce All

Read one EEPROM user-memory page through a silent binary transaction.

memr accepts one hexadecimal page number from 0 through 3F:

memr <page>\r

The command is not echoed and produces no prompt, line ending, or text error. Read a one-byte length followed by exactly that many payload bytes. A successful payload has length 36:

[24] [status=00] [page] [32 data bytes] [crc16 low] [crc16 high]

The CRC is CRC16-CCITT, initialized to FFFF, over status + page + data. An error has length 4 and contains [status] [page] [crc16 little-endian]; its CRC covers status + page. An unparseable page is reported as FF.

Status values are 0 success, 1 invalid page, 2 invalid length, 3 invalid CRC, 4 access denied, and 5 EEPROM I/O error. Multibyte values are little-endian.

For example, a successful read of page 00 begins 24 00 00, followed by 32 data bytes and their two-byte frame CRC. An invalid page request such as memr 40\r returns 04 01 FF CE 30.

Addressed numeric and serial-number forms use the same response. A broadcast form such as @* memr 0\r executes without sending a reply.
