Power supply

The SPS200 is supplied with 24 V via the barrel connector (grey) or via the 2-position +/- terminal block (green). Turn the switch on (pink). The PWGD LED lights up when the board is powered.

Output terminal block connections

  • +VCC: +5 V to +12 V output, configurable with +VCC SET switch (red)
  • -VCC: -5 V to -12 V output, configurable with -VCC SET switch (blue)

Enable / Disable

A 3.3 V TTL signal (5 V compatible) can be connected to the DIS terminal block. When the signal is high, the outputs are disabled. If unused, leave unconnected.

Output voltages configuration

The output voltages +VCC and -VCC are set using the +VCC SET and -VCC SET switches, respectively, using the formula:

VCC = 5 V + SW1 × 4 V + SW2 × 2 V + SW3 × 1 V + SW4 × 0.5 V

where SWX = 0 when OFF, SWX = 1 when ON.

Examples

+VCC = 9.5 V (5 V + 1 × 4 V + 0 × 2 V + 0 × 1 V + 1 × 0.5 V = +9.5 V):

SPS200 Dual power supply +VCC switch set to 9.5 V
SPS200 +VCC switch set to 9.5 V

+VCC = 6 V (5 V + 0 × 4 V + 0 × 2 V + 1 × 1 V + 0 × 0.5 V = 6 V):

SPS200 Dual power supply -VCC switch set to -6 V
SPS200 -VCC switch set to -6 V

Operating limits

The total ouput power of the SPS200-PN (positive output + negative output) must be kept below 36 W (36 W for the SPS200-PP). In addition to that, the output currents must be kept within the limits defined in the diagram below:
