What is my 14-pin butterfly laser diode type?

The pin configuration depends on whether the butterfly package is wired as Type 1 or Type 2. Use the diagram below to identify the package before connecting it to a controller.

If the package type is unclear, compare its manufacturer part number and pinout with the laser datasheet. Do not connect the laser until the diode, thermistor, and monitor-photodiode pins have been identified.
