Set up a USB serial connection between a host and a Zynq board

  1. Connect the serial port of the board to your computer USB port.
  2. Run a terminal emulator
  3. We use here gtkterm to connect to the board.

    $ sudo apt-get install gtkterm
    $ sudo gtkterm
    
  4. Edit Configuration
  5. Go to Configuration> Port and edit the following:

    • Port: /dev/ttyUSB0

    If you don’t know which USB port is in use, you can run:

    $ dmesg | grep ttyUSB
    
    • Baud Rate: 115200

    We use here Tera Term (download) to connect to the board.

  6. Edit Configuration
  7. Go to Setup> Serial port... and edit the following:

    • Baud Rate: 115200
    windows_teraterm_setup_serialport
  8. Reboot the board
